Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we have all been waiting for is finally upon us. Apple has just confirmed that iPhone 5 release event will indeed take place on September 12, the way it has been rumored to over the past couple of weeks. I am quite excited by this new development, which occurred just moments ago as Apple started sending out media invites. This means that finally we can put an end to rumors about Apple’s upcoming smartphoneand look forward to the real thing which Apple will be unveiling to the world on September 12, 2012.

We have already covered a plethora of rumors about the iPhone 5. Frankly it is a bit exhausting now to ponder over what the next iPhone may or may not have. In a little over one week Apple CEO Tim Cook will take the stage and reveal what they have been working on for the past year. Anticipation for this new smartphone ran high when last year Apple announced a slightly improved iPhone 4S. This time around, a fully revamped iPhone is expected and there is a huge possibility that whatever Apple will end up announcing, it will surely blow our minds.
A lot of unorthodox rumors have been passed around as well in recent weeks. There is one which claims that Apple might release up to eight new devices by the end of this year. Some believe that Apple will announce iPad Mini at the same event in which it is announcing iPhone 5. The iPad Mini has been debated in online circles for over two years now and we are yet to be sure of its existence. Apple is rumored to announce iPad Mini at the iPhone 5 release event, however its shipments are expected to begin sometime in October. On the other hand, the iPhone 5 is expected to begin shipping in the US from September 21, just nine days after the official announcement.
Sources had revealed to us previously that the iPhone 5 release event will take place on September 12 and they indeed turned out to be true. We just have to see if other rumors about this device hold up in this very same way. Chances are high that the display is 4 inches, the new iPhone will definitely be thinner than its predecessors and it will surely have the new smaller dock connector we have already talked about.
The iPhone 5 release event will take place in San Francisco, California at 10AM Pacific Time. I will be covering whatever happens at that event, so don’t forget to drop by here to find out what Apple on that epic day.
